Executive Director

Project SAVE Armenian Photograph Archives, Inc. located in Watertown, MA and founded in 1975, now with a collection of over 55,000 photographs seeks an Executive Director to continue expanding the collecting, preserving, and sharing of Armenian Heritage through the photograph. The ideal candidate will strategically increase demand for Project SAVE Archive’s holdings and work to increase public awareness and access to the photographs and their stories.

As our current Executive Director moves on to other opportunities, we are seeking a personable, detail-oriented individual who has interest in history, as well as knowledge and skills to further the growth of Project SAVE.

 

Responsibilities include: Promote the mission of the organization through presentations, exhibits, social media, website, email and traditional media; coordinate and execute fundraising efforts, perform administrative duties, oversee financials, and support the work of professional staff and volunteers in the maintenance of the archive.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Armenian language and culture preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a nonprofit organization

  • Excellent customer service skills online, over the phone and in person required

  • Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or other financial software

  • Proficiency in database administration (data entry and research)

  • Familiarity with social media platforms- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

  • Familiarity with mass email platforms, ie constant contact

  • Familiarity with website and blog maintenance, ie Wix

  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated and work collaboratively as a team player

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines,

  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds

 

Compensation: 

This is a full-time position, salary is based on experience, plus $2,000 annual health insurance reimbursement.
